Day 3 of 31 Day Blogging Challenge
Today is day 3 of 31 day blogging challenge. You can read about the challenge here if you are interested. The goal of this challenge is to let my readers get to know me, the woman behind the screen, a little bit better. It made me step outside of my comfort zone, and I love that part. Seriously, it is one of those things that just makes me grow even more. I may be abnormal, but that is fun for me. Today’s task is to talk about my favorite quote. I have several!
“The sun is always shining. Sometimes it is just covered up by clouds.”
Bobby Irish
It just clicked for me and made perfect sense when I was talking to Bobby one day. Easily a favorite when I am having a bad day. Because it reminds me that feeling bad is a temporary feeling. It will pass, right along with the clouds. Then the sun will come out again.
“What you focus on grows.”
Unknown
I have no clue where this quote came from, honestly. It could be something I heard or read somewhere, or even made up myself. Really not sure with this one. But it became my motto as I started 2019. I was determined to focus on all the right things that I wanted to, and make them all successful. My blog, my health, and personal relationships are the biggest things I’ve made it a point to focus on. Every single aspect of all three have grown tremendously.
They all take hard work and dedication, but it is absolutely an attainable goal. What do you want to focus on and grow? I encourage you to think about that and then make a shift to focus on that.
“Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it.”
Andy Warhol
Every single experience we have in life has beauty in it. Because it is a chance to learn, grow, and become a better person. Even the worst things in life have a positive side to it. The question is, are we open to seeing it?
“Behind every exquisite thing that ever existed, there was something tragic.”
Oscar Wilde
This goes hand in hand with the Andy Warhol quote above this for me. Beauty is born from tragedy. That is where we are able to rise above it and keep pushing forward.
“The best way to predict your future is to create it.”
Abraham Lincoln
This quote relates to my blog for me. I am very determined to create my future through my blog. This quote reminds me that I am the one in control of my life. My choices are my own, and I have to make good ones to ensure the future is what I want it to be.
“Stop being afraid of what can go wrong and think about what can go right.”
Unknown
I’ve let fear hold me back more times than I care to remember or admit. There isn’t a person on this planet who can say they’ve never let fear hold them back.
I’ve made it a point to stop playing the “what if” game because it never ends well. I am the queen of worst case scenarios. If you are like that, change the what if from a negative to a positive. What if I am successful? Then what happens? Sometimes we need to train our minds to go in a different direction. My favorite question in this situation is, what is the worst that can happen? Followed by, what is the best that can happen? Usually the results in the best category are life-changing. The stuff in the worst category aren’t half as bad as we think. Putting it in perspective is huge.
“If you are searching for the one person that will change your life, take a look in the mirror.”
Unknown
Boom, mic drop. There is so much power in that one simple quote. It is life changing, in my mind. We are each in charge of our own life, destiny, and choices. If you are unhappy with life, change direction. I read somewhere once that we are all one decision away from a completely different life. Maybe today is the day you need to make that decision.
“Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.”
Stephen King
Hard work is what brought me to where I am today with my blog, and this quote really reminds me that my hard work is paying off. The key for me is to never stop. I am always pushing hard to become successful.
“Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.”
Napoleon Hill
Everyone (including me) has waiting for just the right time on many occasions. The problem is exactly as the quote says, the time will never be just right. Take the risk now! Jump in with both feet and just do it. Nike had it right when they coined the phrase “just do it.”
“Be who you are and say what you feel. Because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
Dr. Seuss
The truth is that some people will find each of us “too much” of something or “not enough” of another. Just be you, and forget the ones who take issue with you being yourself. Those people aren’t needed in our lives.
Notes
As you can see, my favorite quotes are about hard work, personal growth, and success. Because that has been my main focus this year, and the results are more than I imagined. I am determined to work hard and be successful. That includes approaching everything, including obstacles, with the right mindset. I can learn from growth. But as a result, I can also learn from challenges, failures, and setbacks too.
What is your favorite quote? I would love to know about it. Feel free to leave me a comment and share! You never know who will read it and be life-changing for them.

“Stop being afraid of what can go wrong and think about what can go right.” Definitely my favorite quote. I have learned to take a chance! Don’t let fear keep me from my goals.
Bobby Irish

love this — is this your own personal challenge or is it posted somewhere with prompts?
BTW, great quotes. and I haven’t forgotten about a collaboration of prepping ideas for dog mamas!
The Prepping Wife
Someone I follow on Twitter is doing it, and sent me a pic of the prompts. If it were my own doing, I can’t say I’d be writing about these topics. Lol. Mostly because I don’t normally focus on myself when I write. It is a challenge, to say the least.

Thanks, Jen! I am so glad you enjoy my blog. I love the “let it be” quote! I think the simplicity of it is just perfect, while being powerful. Thank you for taking the time to share that one with me!

I have a huge collection of quotes and love going back to them for inspiration. These are all great and, while I am not naturally one for getting out of my comfort zone like you are, from experience I know it has always been beneficial. So I embrace change, even if I would just rather stay in my cozy bed surrounded by my favorite things. Love this challenge, btw and hope to do something similar on my own blog someday. I just pinned it for later. And now I will go and read day 1 and day 2 of the challenge.

I have always loved inspiring quotes. I love the one that says, ” The best way to predict your future is to create it.” And also, “What you focus on grows.” -Absolutely true! I’d love to share this quote that I really love, “It was sunsets that taught me that beauty sometimes only lasts for a couple of moments. And it was sunrises that showed me that all it takes is patience to experience it all over again.”- A.J. Lawless

I absolutely love the Stephen King post. As someone making a living in the creative arts, I often hear people talk about how it ‘must be nice to have a talent like that’. It’s like they believe that my career has been handed to me due to some magical power that was just handed to me at birth. Ha! If they knew how much hard work, dedication and effort it took, they would have a very different view of it all. I’m not a ‘lucky musician’, I’m a determined one and that’s why I get to enjoy playing dinners, weddings, etc. today, doing what I love and making money doing it.

There are a lot of beautiful quotes here and that challenge sounds like fun!

I have always wanted and intended to do a blogging challenge like this! I’m impressed that people can be this consistent! And I LOVE quotes and actually already have a blog written with all my favorites, so I guess day #3 on this list is already done! I think I’ll go through this list and see what else I may have already written about and tweak them and add the other stuff I haven’t! Great motivation, thank you!
