Winter Must Haves
Winter is here and it is brutal this year! It is not showing signs of warming up any time soon either. What do we need during the winter? Accessories to stay warm and comfortable! Here are a list of my favorites to make the winter months more comfortable and enjoyable, as well as productive.

Gloves
The North Face women’s gloves. I’ve never found a pair of gloves that fit so beautifully. I loved them so much that I bought a second pair. These gloves go everywhere with me. I go hiking with them, they’re great for target practice when my fingers are cold. I can work with them on. At one time I had a job delivering newspapers and it took me forever to find a pair of gloves I could wear and work in, and these are it! They fit nice and tight, like a second skin. I always have a pair stashed in my purse, and one in my bug out bag.
Slippers
Memory Foam Slippers are the perfect house slipper to keep me both warm and comfortable. I keep these next to my bed when I wake up on those cold and snowy mornings. Put them on and I’m nice and comfortable. I can sit and watch the snow from my living room or dining room. A perfect gift for any stay at home mom or wife, who needs a little added comfort in their day!
Coffee
Coffee is an absolute winter must for me. Nothing is better than waking up in the morning, putting on my slippers and making a cup of the most amazing coffee and curling up on the couch to watch the snow falling outside. Black Rifle Coffee is my absolute favorite, and Murdered Out is the best blend. Don’t let the name fool you. It is perfection in a cup. Dark without a hint of bitterness. I enjoy sipping this hot cup of happiness in my favorite coffee mug.
Speaking of coffee, if you’ve never brewed coffee in a French Press, you haven’t enjoyed coffee at its best! This is easily my favorite way to brew coffee.
Blankets
Blankets are an absolute must to go with the slippers and coffee while relaxing and enjoying the snow fall outside. I always keep several on my blanket rack in my office, just so I can grab one easily on those cold days. Extra blankets are also important from a prepping standpoint. Nobody wants to be cold when the power goes out!
I also keep a heated blanket on my bed. The thing I love about this is that it has dual controls. My husband can control his side, and me on mine. I like it warmer than he does, and our temperatures differ quite often. Our heated mattress pad also ensures that we have ample warmth from the top and bottom. Turning both on is like crawling into a warm cocoon of happiness.
Crochet Projects
During the winter I love to crochet. It is a perfect winter activity. But I always find my yarn falling off the couch or going everywhere. The cat loves this part. Because then he thinks it is playtime. This bag is my favorite to keep my projects contained and travel with. I crochet in the car during trips, and this bag is perfect for that too. It is easily the best bag I’ve found for anyone who enjoying crocheting or knitting. It also makes a great gift, which I’ve given for holidays.
Books
Reading is another wonderful winter activity. I am a huge fan of the Kindle because it is lightweight and very portable. I can take it anywhere with me, and throw it in my purse. Keeping it in a case to protect it during travels and it doesn’t add any extra weight to it. Winter is easily my favorite time to read, because going outside isn’t really an option. Since I have challenged myself to read at least one book a month, my Kindle is a big help with that. Check out my favorites here.
Comfy Pajamas
Fleece pajamas are something every man and woman need! My husband and I both have a set of these. I can always tell when it is really cold because my husband will wear his. He’s not cold often. I am always wearing mine because I’m cold. If you are like me or know something who is always cold, this is the perfect gift to keep them warm and cozy.
Cooking Comfort Foods
During the winter months, I am always cooking and trying new recipes. I adore hearty comfort food, and I frequently have some sort of soup or the makings of a casserole going on the stove. Belgique pans for my cooking are the best. They are well made and last forever. It is a huge investment in any kitchen. These also make excellent gifts for anyone you know who loves to cook.
Work
I do a ton of writing for my blog during the winter. It is the easiest time for me because I am already at home, warm and comfortable, and the ideas are flowing! There is no better tool than my MacBook Pro to get the job done for me. With this tool, I can work anywhere. My office, my couch, out and about wherever I am. It is a very useful tool to me and my blog.
Home Gym
I must admit that during the winter months, I have a really hard time finding the motivation to make it out and to the gym. To combat this and not just balloon up in weight, I’ve created a workout space in my office. My yoga mat is the most essential accessory. I found a great slim weight rack that doesn’t take up much space at all. My go-to item in here is my stability ball to always keep working on core exercises and my abs.
Winter Must Haves Notes
These are all some wonderful and amazing tools and accessories to make the winter more comfortable for me, especially since I work at home. Many of them make great gifts for friends and family as well. I am all about being as productive as I can be, and I use these things to help with that in my daily life. I hope they can help you make it through the winter a bit more comfortably as well! Always remember to stay safe in harsh weather and be prepared!

Omg the heated blanket with dual controls sounds bliss!! Thanks for sharing your tips 🙂 (hope you are staying all warm hahaha)
The Prepping Wife
I cannot recommend the heated blanket or mattress pad with the dual controls enough. They are simply amazing! I turn both on my side on about 1-2 hours before I go to bed, so it is nice and warm when I get in, and then I can fall asleep so easily! I am one of those where I just cannot fall asleep if my feet are cold, but I can’t sleep with socks either. This is the happy medium that I need. The dual controls make it so my husband can set his side wherever he wants it, which is never the same as mine. Lol. Like, ever. The day we set our controls to the same temperature, I’m buying a lottery ticket. Lol. Chances are about the same.

You had me at French press! There’s nothing like a hot steaming cup of coffee on a cold day. That and a fire in the fireplace.

Coffee is a must for every season. I am a MAC convert for about 3 years now and can’t believe I waited this long to make the switch. Excellent Winter list

Those North Face gloves look divine!! They’re an investment, but living in Canada not I’m starting to think I may need them…
The Prepping Wife
They are sooooo amazing! They fit like a glove. Lol. I have never found a pair of gloves that fit so perfectly. Once I put them on, I knew I was in love.
Despite Pain
I think I need to look into those North Face gloves. My hands and feet suffer terribly from the cold. I’ve hardly ventured out of the house lately, but I am sitting here with the log fire on, the slippers, the fleece blankets, the coffee and the macbook pro. I am wondering if I wrote this post for you lol.

Memory foam slippers is a must have for anyone during winter season. Can anyone even survive without it?

Great list! We keep coffee and tea on deck for the winter months, and I actually just got my wife a heated blanket for Christmas last year that she loves. That weight rack has me intrigued. My job has a full gym with tons of stuff in it, but I wanna be able to do some free weights stuff at home as well. My wife never leaves without her 13″ Macbook. I’m a PC guy myself, so my 15″ Acer E 15 is my mobile office when I’m not in front of my custom built PC. As for slippers, my Mother-In-Law has a business where she makes those, so I’ll have a pair of those before long!

We love our heated mattress pad. It’s so nice to get into a warm bed in the evening.
Nina Nichols
Heated blanket is a must at this kind of weather! Being cold is not fun at all that’s why I struggled a lot when we lost the power because of ice storm.
Lindsay Brown
Memory foam slippers!? Those sound amazing!! I absolutely love French pressed coffee too! That is all we serve for coffee at our sandwich shop and we are constantly getting compliments on it. It’s amazing how many people have never had a French pressed coffee!
This was a great list!

I used to live in the Midwest and had gotten used to winter and definitely had all the key items you mentioned. However, I have lived in California for the past few years which has softened me up. If I ever move back to where it’s cold, I’ll have to relearn all this.
Megan McC
Great tips to stay warm! After 30 winters in the Midwest, I never got myself to enjoy winter. Good gloves, blankets, and coffee are key to survival on these tough winter days.
The Sunny Side of Something
Coffee and slippers for the win! I usually take winter as an accepted hibernation– write, reflect, relax, recover.

Having growing up and spending all my life in warm places, I had no idea about the heated blanket and mattress. They sound so cool! All your ideas were great and somehow reminded me a cozy, cold day !
Mary
Aw man, I sure wish I still lived in a cold enough climate for North Face. Reminds me of my days spent out on the deer stand with daddy.
Kari Chairez
Coffee AND crochet? I think we just became best friends. Lol. Those are two of my favorite things!
The Prepping Wife
Mine too! Lol. Can’t go wrong with coffee and crocheting.
Angie
This is a great list. Fortunately, I said no more winters for me and moved to the desert 🤣
Diana
This is such a great list. Yes I could not agree more about my coffeee maker – if I didn’t have mine I think it would be a disaster amongst all.

I love all products made by The North Face. I am going to add these gloves to my gift list for the wife. Also, the Fleece pajamas are perfect for some stocking stuffers. Thanks for making gift shopping for Christmas so easy!

These are some great winter essentials to get through the colder months. I couldn’t be without gloves and slippers during the winter. Your heated blanket sounds great. I’d like to try one of those.

Heated Blankets are a MUST!! I have had one every year. In wintertime in Scotland can be varied. All seasons in one day. So you’ll definitely appreciate the blanket at bedtime.
The Sunny Side Lifestyle Co.
I absolutely dread winter (not sure why I live in New England) so anything to keep me extra warm is on my must have winter list. I need a pair of these North Face gloves! Having a pair of everyday gloves that I can put on daily as I leave the house will change my life. I’m also thinking I should check out the heated blanket.
Daphne
This are great options to keep us warm during winter! I personally looooooove the mattress pad! It’s so nice! I leave it on for 10min before I go into bed and it’s the best! Getting into a warm bed!
Clarice
Totally agree with you. I also consider coffee as an absolute winter must-have. My husband and I are huge coffee-lovers and we love to try Black Rifle Coffee.
And yes, French Press is the best way to go. 🙂
Anyway, I enjoyed reading your post. Thank you for reminding me to grab new fleece pajamas.

winter is such a cozy time for me. Blankets are the most important
