We had a Spanish version, so I could never read the text, but the pictures are enough in that book.

Other favourites of mine were Harry Potter, The Worst Witch and The Chronicles of Narnia as well as anything by Eva Ibbotson. Such a fun prompt.

I did an autobiographical book post several years ago on my blog and it was a wonderful trip down memory lane. I love the twists on fairytales — have you ever read Fractured Fairytales? It’s a bit more for grown-ups (I think), but lots of fun.
